Dr. Sanjiv Bhandari, DVM

Dr. S Bhandari holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science (DVM) from the School of Veterinary Medicine, Punjab Agricultural University (India) and a Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition from the University of Manitoba. He began his career as a mixed animal practitioner in India for 4 years before moving to Canada.  Dr. Bhandari is practising small animal veterinary medicine in Winnipeg since 2009. His professional interests include small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and critical care. Dr. Bhandari is a strong believer in teamwork. He lives with his wife, a daughter, and a son. Away from work, he enjoys travelling, watching sports, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Sav Virdi, DVM

Dr. Sav Virdi has been practicing veterinary medicine in Winnipeg since 2011. In these years he has accumulated experience in small animal medicine and surgery.  He is committed to excellent and compassionate veterinary care to all furry friends. His dedication and passion for the profession indulges him to update his knowledge and refine his practice skills through continuing education, journals and veterinary seminars.

He loves to enjoy his spare time with his family, (a daughter, son and his wife and mother) and a cat named Majnu.

Dr. Vikram Narula, DVM

Dr. Vikram Narula joined our practice in 2018. He is passionate about working with owners and their pets. He graduated from the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Punjab, India. Before joining our team, he worked as a mixed animal veterinarian in India and also worked as a research technician at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Narula has a special interest in wellness medicine, internal medicine, and dermatology. He is accompanied by his wife, mother and a son. In his spare time, he loves to spend time with his family and watching sports.

Dr. Bikram Grewal, DVM

Dr. Bikram grew up in Surrey, British Columbia and graduated from the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, India in 2015. During veterinary school, he focused on small animal practice and developed an interest in surgery, internal medicine, geriatric and urgent care. Dr. Bikram joined the Plessis Veterinary Hospital in January 2020. Before joining our team, he worked at Seattle (Washington) and Thompson for 3 years. Dr. Bikram feels excited to join the team here and his goal is to provide excellent care to patients and each day brings new and interesting challenges. Dr. Bikram shares his home with his wife and cat named “Harvey” a rescue cat. In his spare time, he enjoys watching hockey.

Dr. Sumeetinder Singh Bhangu, DVM

Dr Sumeet joined our team in 2018 after graduating from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University in India. During his veterinary medicine programme he continued to Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon to complete his one health and clinical training program. After completing his training programme, he went back to his alma mater to complete master’s degree in Veterinary Surgery & Radiology with key focus on abdominal ultrasonography and soft tissue surgery. After his master’s degree, he was conferred with University Gold Medal for achieving the highest standing in College of Veterinary Science. During his University and general practice years he gained experience in diagnostic imaging, small animal gastroenterology, diagnostic pathology, zoonotic and preventive veterinary medicine. He strongly believes in client communication and continuing education in order to be more efficient, effective and connected.

When he is not working, he can be found exploring National/ Provincial parks in and around Manitoba, jogging and playing outdoor games.

Amy, Registered Veterinary Technician

Amy has been a Registered Veterinary Technician with us since our opening in August 2014. She graduated from Red River College in June 2013 and received the MVTA Compassionate Care Award. Amy has a special interest in patient nursing care, ultrasound imaging, anesthesia, small animal nutrition, and canine behaviour. She shares her home with her boyfriend Dylan and their 3 rescue dogs Lucy, Molly and Letti, and 2 cats Charlie and Tucker. When not at work, Amy enjoys spending time at home with her pets, going to the dog park, and attending Winnipeg Jets games!

Katherine, Registered Veterinary Technician

Katherine has been working at Plessis Veterinary Hospital since October 2017. She first started on weekends while studying to become a Registered Veterinary Technician at Red River College, and graduated in June 2018 with honours. Katherine has always had a love for animals, after getting her first dog at the age of 4. She now has a 2 year dog named Jax, who loves the family and loves to speak his mind. In her downtime, Katherine enjoys relaxing with a good book, spending time her family and friends, and cooking.

Brenna, Registered Veterinary Technician

Brenna joined our team September 2019. She graduated from Red River College in 2015 and has been gaining experience in the field since. Brenna enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She shares her home with her husband, a border collie named Finn, and their cat Alfred.

Shaelynn, Registered Veterinary Technician

Shaelynn graduated from Red River College in June of 2018 where she obtained a diploma in the Veterinary Technology program. She joined our team in March of 2019 after previously gaining experience in large animal medicine. Shaelynn has a keen interest in surgical anesthesia, patient nursing care, client communication, and CATS! When she is not at work, she can be found in a greenhouse looking at plants, or enjoying the outdoors riding her horses. Her personal zoo consists of three horses, one dog, one cat, and two rabbits.

Alyssa, Registered Veterinary Technician

Alyssa started her veterinary career working as a veterinary assistant in 2014 while she was in college. She graduated from Red River College with a diploma in Animal Health Technology in 2015 & began her career as a technician. Alyssa has special interests in anesthesia and phlebotomy. She shares her home with her husband Joey, daughter Arya, and her mixed breed dog Ajax. During her spare time, she likes to go camping & spend time with friends and family.

Oceane, Veterinary Assistant

Oceane has been an assistant with us since September 2017. She has 2 dogs: Squirrel and Talise, 2 cats: Marnie and Monroe, and a 28-year-old horse: Tiffany. Oceane enjoys doing dog agility, dog shows, herding and teaching tricks to her dogs. In the future, she hopes to be doing flyball and acting classes with her dogs! In her spare time, Oceane loves nature, spending time with her fiancé, hiking and travelling.

Krisdale, Veterinary Assistant

Krisdale graduated from the Veterinary Assistant Program at the Animal Behaviour College and has been part of our team since October 2017. Her favourite part of her job is being able to care for, help and comfort sick, injured or scared animals.  She also tries to expand her knowledge of patient care in order to give our furry companions the best care and experience possible.

When she’s not at the hospital she is with her 4-year-old daughter, Payton. They enjoy conquering jigsaw puzzles, creating refrigerator-worthy doodles and hosting lovely tea parties where only the most distinguished stuff animals & dolls are invited to. During her free time, she is reading books, listening to Podcasts, (sometimes) at the gym and having food dates with her friends and family. 

Sydney, Veterinary Assistant

Sydney has been working here since October 2018. After graduating from the Veterinary Assistant program at Robertson College and finishing a 4-week work practicum at our hospital, she was hired on full time. At home, Sydney has a rescue dog named Kya who loves to cuddle and run outside. When not at work, Sydney loves spending time with her boyfriend, family and friends. She also enjoys the outdoors doing many different activities.

Emily, Veterinary Assistant

Emily has been working with us since July of 2019, She loves all animals and decided to join our team full time until she begins tech school in 2020. At home, Emily has 5 cats: Jezebel, Checkers, Charlie, Leo and Maisy and 1 dog named Dio who she loves dearly. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend.

Serina, Office Assistant

Serina started working as an office assistant at Plessis Veterinary Hospital in July of 2018. Having a strong passion for animals, she enjoys working in the veterinary environment. Outside of work she enjoys hiking and teaching tricks to her mini Australian shepherd, “Jagger”. Horseback riding is also one of her favorite hobbies, she owns a quarter horse mare named “Holly” and enjoys practicing &competing in the sport of reining

Riley, Office Assistant

Riley has been working at Plessis Veterinary Hospital since February 2018. When she’s not at work she is busy attending classes for her Bachelor of Social Work or spending time with her rescue dog Dixie and 2 cats Fred and Elliot. Riley also enjoys going to her cabin and spending time with her family.

Candace, Office Assistant

Candace has been working at Plessis Veterinary Hospital since October 2018. She loves working in a veterinary setting and is always excited to meet new patients. At home, she has a 4-year-old Husky named Bella & a 3-year-old Border Collie, Daisy. Outside of work she enjoys hiking with her dogs, going to the cabin, traveling and spending time with her boyfriend Drake.

Selena, Office Assistant

Selena has been working at our clinic since September of 2019. She has two cats Poppy and Spooky as well as a rough collie named Sadie. Spooky was an injured stray that was brought into the clinic and it was love at first sight. When she’s not at work she enjoys spending time with her fluffy companions, her friends and family.

Kendyl, Office Assistant

Kendyl joined our team in August 2019 after moving to Winnipeg from Thunder Bay, ON. She has been passionate about working with animals since she was young and has been part of the industry since 2015. When she’s not at work Kendyl enjoys costume making, travelling and spending time with her dogs Eizen and Presea.

Carly, Office Assistant

Carly has been with us since April 2016. She has completed the Robertson College Veterinary Assistant program beforehand and has a strong passion for helping rescue animals that come in through the clinic and watching them grow into the perfect pet! In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, spending time outside, and being with her dog; Torque – a cane corso bulldog mix who’s attitude and weight are over the top!

Alyssa, Office Assistant

Alyssa joined our team in January of 2020. She previously completed her Health Unit Clerk course at Red River College but her love for animals brought her to us. When she’s not at work Alyssa like’s to surround herself with her family and friends and spending quiet nights in with her husband Andrew and dog Tootsie.
