Dr. Sanjiv Bhandari, DVM
Dr. S Bhandari holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science (DVM) from School of Veterinary Medicine, Punjab Agricultural University (India) and a Master’s degree in Animal Nutrition from the University of Manitoba.
He began his career as a mixed animal practitioner in India for 4 years before moving to Canada. Prior to opening his own practice, he worked at Fortgarry Veterinary Hospital and Southglen Veterinary hospital for two and three years, respectively.
His professional interests include: small animal internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, emergency medicine, and critical care. Dr. Bhandari is a strong believer in teamwork. Dr. Bhandari is a member of Canadian Veterinary Medical Association and Manitoba Veterinary Medical Association.
He lives his wife, a daughter, and a son. Away from work, he enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Sav Virdi, DVM
Dr. Sav Virdi is practicing veterinary medicine in Winnipeg since 2011. In these years he has accumulated good experience in small animal medicine and surgery. He is committed to endeavour excellent and compassionate veterinary care to furry friends. His dedication and passion for profession indulges him to update his knowledge and refine his practice skills through continuing education, journals and veterinary seminars.
He loves to enjoy spare time with his family, (a 4 years old daughter and 6 months old son and his wife and mother) and cat named Majnu.
Amy has been a technician with us since our opening in August 2014. She graduated from Red River College in June 2013 and received the MVTA Compassionate Care Award. Amy has a special interest in patient nursing care, dental prophylaxis, small animal nutrition and canine behaviour. She shares her home with her boyfriend Dylan and their 3 rescue dogs Lucy, Molly and Letti, and 2 cats Charlie and Tucker. When not at work, Amy enjoys spending time at home with her pets, going to the dog park, and attending Winnipeg Jets games!
Kristina Muise, B.Sc. Hons.
Kristina has been a veterinary assistant since May 2012 and joined us in January 2015. Recently, Kristina graduated from the University of Winnipeg after completing her honours thesis that analyzed the pre-hibernation foraging behaviour of little brown bats. When not at work, Kristina enjoys cooking, photography and volunteering on the farm at FortWhyte Alive. In the future, Kristina plans to attend the Western College of Veterinary Medicine to complete the DVM degree.
Alisha Tanner, Receptionist
Alisha genuinely enjoys caring for animals. Every day is a new learning experience, which makes every day worth waking up to and going to work. Alisha became a volunteer in the Veterinary field in the summer of 2014, and became a full time office assistant in November 2014. Alisha shares her home with one dog, a Pomeranian named Foxy and 2 kittens names Olivia and Elliot. When not at work, Alisha enjoys activities such as camping, cooking, and taking Foxy to the dog park. Alisha plans to attend the Animal Health Technology program at Red River College in the future.
